昨年の10月に栃木県で大谷石の石切り場をご案内していただいた。大谷石の岩盤から目的の石を切り出すために、その搬出路や工事動線もまた大谷石に文字通り彫刻して作り上げる。細かな部材を組み立てるのではなく地球を彫刻することで空間を生み出して行く。垂直の岩盤に対し奥行き方向に階段を彫り込む・・石切り場の空間美に圧倒された・・神長さん貴重な体験をありがとうございます。
Last October, I was given a tour of the Oya stone quarry in Tochigi Prefecture. In order to cut out the desired stone from the Oya stone bedrock, the transport routes and construction flow lines are literally carved into the Oya stone. Rather than assembling small parts, he creates space by sculpting the earth. I was overwhelmed by the spatial beauty of the stone quarry, carving a staircase in the depth direction into the vertical bedrock. Thank you Mr. Kaminaga for this valuable experience.
